Travel Photography

Travel is the most intense mode of learning.
Iceland 2018

Reykjavik.

There's not much more invigorating than purchasing a ticket to Iceland at 11:45 pm before a deal closes at midnight! This spontaneous long weekend trip with two of my best friends was something straight out of a dream. The landscape was our fairytale setting to explore! Everything you hear about Iceland is true and so much more.

France 2017

Paris, Chartres, Barbizon, Auvers-sur-Oise, Versailles.

This next international trip to France was special for more than just a new stamp in my passport. I had the privilege to present my research on 19th-century photography, that I had conducted at West Virginia University under the supervision of Dr. Raymond the previous year. From the pre-requisite course to the six credit hour night class that followed, and the weeks of research and editing for the cherry on top, all the hard work was more than paid off! I could not have dreamed of this trip if I tried and experiencing it with fellow Art Historians was something I will hold dear to me for the rest of my life.

2016
Nevada 2016

Las Vegas, Death Valley NP, Hoover Dam.

Out west, everything is a hundred miles away until you get there. Having been out west previously, the vast expansion didn't shock me, but this trip is the first time I drove and had a true road trip experience out west was a different story! To roll my windows down, car camp and explore marvels of nature with my best friend was an adventure that I will never forget!

Hawaii 2016

Maui.

The final year we could be certain of having a full week off from school and work would be possible for my family, we went big! Or rather, to one of our country's smaller states; Hawaii. From lulus, pig roast, whale sightings and black sand beaches, this island has something for everyone to enjoy. Their rich history and traditions create the foundation of which we pay respect to the island for, today.

Washington D.C. 2016

Washington District of Columbia.

Our nation's capital is the perfect combination of history, nostalgia, respect and current events. Around each corner is people experiencing a piece of our history and foundation for the first time. We pay respects, learn and contribute to the rich heritage that is the United States of America.

South Carolina 2016

Charleston, Hilton Head Island.

As in my North Carolina experience, this album starts in March 2016 on my road trip with my sister. We went down to the vibrant city of Charleston! The character and charm of this city is infectious to your soul. Then on my summer journey, I made several small trips down to the beautiful coastal island of Hilton Head. Just over one bridge, you come to a coastal town with city life and experience great relaxation and island time!

North Carolina 2016

Charlotte, Asheville, Wilmington, Sylva.

First, in March of 2016, my sister and I hit the road for a Spring Break road trip! This trip had one agenda; stopping in Charlotte for an interview. I received and accepted an offer from this meeting for an internship that summer! Then from May to August, I explored the beautiful state of North Carolina from the biggest "tourist" traps to it's quiet, hidden gems. Living in a new state with so many natural and famous experiences to explore changed my world.

SoCal 2016

San Diego.

In May 2016, my Uncle, two Cousins, and I went to San Diego, CA for a week to celebrate us being 21. The southern coast of California is truly a magical place with its own pace of life. Every corner of the city had different character and culture. This relaxing trip with no plan allowed us to fully explore and be enveloped by the city!

California 2015

San Francisco, Bodega Bay, Sonoma Valley.

The first week of July 2015 I spent exploring the Bay Area. The beautiful coastal city treated me well. The art scene and history in the city of San Francisco is endless. Around every corner is a new discovery. This leisure trip was a wonderful opportunity to keep expanding my photography. The gorgeous city was the perfect subject.

Wyoming 2015

Idaho, Montana.

End of June in the summer of 2015 I traveled to Jackson, Wyoming with another GPS program through West Virginia University. Our home base was at Cowboy Village in Jackson. We spent 10 days exploring the breath taking landscapes of Jackson Hole, Grand Teton National Park, Yellowstone National Park, Montana, and Eastern Idaho. This photography based coursed allowed me to explore myself as a photographer, practice different techniques and develop more of my skill in taking landscape photographs.

Alaska 2015

Anchorage.

March 2015 I took a personal trip to Anchorage, Alaska for a week. Traveling the Pacific Glacier Highway, I explored Anchorage and towns south of there. Driving along the water and going to harbor towns. The vast beauty of the land is breathtakingly close and overwhelming. Hiking through these landscapes was as if I traveling in a dream world.

Chile 2014

San Pedro, Santiago.

In June of 2014 I went on a Global Positioning trip through West Virginia University's Creative Arts school to northern Chile in South America. Most of our three weeks were spent in the Atacama desert. Our home base was San Pedro. We ended the trip in the capital, Santiago for three days. Once we returned to Morgantown, West Virginia another week was spent in the studio editing and putting together a final presentation of our work.

Final presentation video can be viewed under the video tab.
